I would like to start a series about periods. I apologize in advance for all my male readers out there but gentlemen let's face the fact that periods do have an impact on your life too .
On this particular post I will mention some tips about how to handle your period especially if you got it for the first time.
First and foremost, many women during their period go under severe pain that sometimes is even unbearable with pain killers. But do not be dissapointed ladies! You cal consult your doctor and find a pain killer that really suits YOU ! And please for Christ sake don't use any time of pain killer that your doctor hasn't describe you just because you read good reviews about it online.
Change your pad, yout tampon or your menstrual cup when needed. We will elaborate on those things on future posts. Just remember that every woman is different and it is okay to feel uncomfortable wearing a pad especially with dresses or white jeans which brings me to to another fact :based on the product you are using(pad, tampon or menstrual cup) you have to adjust your outfits. For instance a pad is easily noticeable as opposed to tampons and menstrual camps which will provide you the oppourtinity to wear all types of clothes and even give you the opportynity to go swimming without any worries(although tampons and menstrual cups are regarded and supported by researches as a not safe choice for long use, instead gynecologists instist that you should where them only in rare occasions when wearing a pad will be impossible and unberable).
When a woman has her period her hormones are in a sock. They fluctuate constantly and she may experience mood swings and of course cravings before and during her period(varies from lady to lady). To deal with those uncomfortable situations, explain that you are simply having a bad day and don't be shy about being on your period. You shouldn't feel shame for something that is natural and healthy. As for cravings do indulge in but with caution. Don't eat an enormous amount of ice cream or chocolate. Eat in moderation and try to snack on healthy foods like carrots or fruits.
Last but not least, always carry with you the products of your choice in case of an emergency.Feel free to ask for help when you forgotten to take some with you. Ladies will always understand what you are going through.
P.S
Dear male readers of this post.
Firstly i would like to thank you for your patience when we are in our period. We know things could get kind of messy and crazy sometimes but blame it on our body, it plays games to us. When we ask for your help please do not hesitate to do so. There might be times when we won't be able to run towards the closest supermarket and buy ourselves the products that we need. If that happens you would be our heroes and you could really help us a lot if you could go and buy the things we need.Bringing us chocolate or trying to help us relax is an amazing act. The majority of ladies don't feel comfortable being on their period. If you are okay with that then it is most likely that we will start to be okay with it too.
And pretty please don't you ever shout to us when we are on our period and don't you ever ask the typical preconceived question if we are in our periods when we are mad about something. We are weird creatures and we need your understanding.
